Not much of a win with American giving them back their tips, not charging the 2 bucks for curbside, instead lets charge 15 bucks a bag.  So American agrees to tips but who will while they are collecting the 15 dollars?  Gotcha ya.  Way to go American, not.

I’ve never worked for tips, so I have no idea what it would be like.  But wouldn’t a raise from $5.15 an hour to $12 or $15 be significate?  It just feels like greed to me.  I’m a poor airline employee so a $6+ an hour raise would blow me away.

Figure a dollar a bag, what do they check a day 200-400 a day?  Pretty significant.  I’ve heard that sky caps checking the bags can make like 50,000 a year on up.  Not bad.  At 15 an hour about 31,000, so it was a cut in pay.  I guess if you were used to making that your expenses are pretty equal to your earnings so raising hourly rates proabably crunched their lifestyle. Holy Cow!!!  I had no idea.  I guess cuz I never see it here in Phoenix.  Plus being an airline employee you NEVER get curb side.  You’re just hoping to get on a plane!!!  LOL

It is pretty sad that a lawsuit is what it takes.

Very true, it’s a shame. But if a lawsuit can settle it once and for all then so be it!
