US Airways changing reward travel

US Airways is changing the way its customers ‘cash in’ reward travel on its Dividend Miles Program. The airline sent out a press release trying to make it appear the consumer wins. But that’s not the way I see it. On average, the new system will make the consumer spend more of his/her mileage for a ‘free’ trip. I don’t have a problem with that, an airline’s gotta make money. I just wish they would be truthful on how the changes affect their clients. Here’s a link to the news realease:

Red Bull

Just a quick note. I love the fact that US Airways is serving Red Bull on their flights! I love Red Bull and US Airways and glad they got together. I know that US Airways added a few other items on their beverage carts, like Arnold Palmer Ice Tea, and that they are charging for these items in coach, but still works for me. Plus, because I fly so much, I get upgraded a lot to first class where there is no charge! I’m one happy passenger.

I wanted to be the first ‘passenger’ to post under this new catagory. I’m glad that World Airport News decided to add this area. I think this would be a good place for people like me to share their airline experiences: the good; the bad; and the ugly.

I’ll start with this, last week I went back and forth from Phoenix to Oakland, CA. On the way there, I was on US Airways Express. The flight was boring. And boring means good, perfect. One of those things were no news is good news.

On the way back, I was on US Airways. I was upgraded to first class. Again, the flight was boring. And again, that’s good.
